Self-portrait
Project Type
Digital Illustration
Date
2020
Materials
Procreate
In this self-portrait, I wanted to explore how you can learn a lot about the person through their clothing, hair, background items, and how they depict themselves in self-portraits. In my self-portrait, I wanted to add items representing me and past experiences that have made me who I am. When this portrait was created, I felt I was in a weird age of letting go of childhood and fully entering and embracing adulthood, and I made sure to add aspects that would reflect this change.
This piece was runner-up in a community-based art contest held by the University of Toronto in Mississauga's journal, the Medium.
This artwork was created using graphite blushes in Procreate..
